This morning the weather changed, as the wind has lied down a bit and the sky is clear. We will be going to Table Mountain! I enjoyed my morning practice by the pool, and a wonderful assortment of fruit, nuts and yogurt for breakfast. I am loving all the Rooibus tea.

Our group meet at 8:30 and we headed off for Table Mountain, 3300 ft about sea level. We took the cable cars up to the top, and I can see why they shut them down when the wind is up. The car is a circle, and the floor moves around clockwise as the car journeys upward, so all get a view. Fun.

The top of the mountain looks like it has been sheered off, and there are wonderful paths to walk, the longest takes about 45 min. I enjoyed the panoramic views of the Cape (both the town and the Capes we were at yesterday.) The sensation of being on top of the world was there again today. The pictures will be spectacular!

After Table Mountain we headed over to a Botanical Garden where the Clivia (a type of Lily) are in full bloom. We had a light lunch, and then enjoyed about an hour and a half walk up, around and through the beauty that is in bloom now. A lot of the vegetation is local, with some imports. The pincushions, clivia and daisies were outstanding. The protea are one of the local flowers that only grow here and are exported all over the world, are amazing. They look prehistoric in some way.

Back from the gardens I headed down to the waterfront to exchange some money and do a bit of shopping. Now it is time to freshen up for dinner, as we are going downtown to the Africa Café.

Tomorrow we leave here and head up the Garden route to see the whales in Hermanus. Ohhh, I can’t wait!
